       Torah scroll maintenance

Did you know that ELUL, the month preceding Rosh Hashanah, is the traditional time to have a qualified Scribe inspect Tefillin and Mezuzoth for their Kashruth?

In addition, many synagogues send their Torah Scrolls in need of repair to a Sofer. To protect aging Torah scrolls it is recommended that a sofer professionally clean stained or dusty parchment and repair cracked and faded letters. Another common problem is frayed edges of a scroll's the parchment. If not reinforced, a whole section of the scroll could tear requiring a very costly repair. A properly maintained Torah scroll can last several generations.

Call to have your Torah Scrolls repaired before the holidays.
